Wheels of Time The Baroli Family Journey Since 1913

The Baroli driving school’s story began long before its founding in 1913. In the early 1800s, Julius Baroli, a skilled pewterer, moved from Auzate, Italy, to Weisenau, Germany. His grandson, Joseph Baroli, earned his driver’s license in 1908 and, by 1913, began training others—establishing one of the region’s first driving schools. Today, the Baroli family proudly continues its legacy, combining tradition with modern driver education in Mainz.

Why Did the Baroli Family Start a Driving School?

The Baroli family transitioned from plumbing to driver training when Joseph Baroli earned his license in 1908 and founded the school in 1913. His son Karl became an instructor in 1929, and after WWII, the family’s bike shop evolved into a full-time driving school. By 1950, Baroli had become a trusted name—training generations of drivers, including many guest workers.

A Legacy on the Move: Four Generations of Baroli Excellence

Fahrschule Baroli has grown from a one-man operation into a respected institution across four generations. In 1953, Karl Baroli hired the school’s first additional instructor, paving the way for decades of expansion. Josef Baroli took over in the 1960s, introducing standout vehicles like the BMW 2002 and building a reputation that reached national media by the school’s 100th anniversary in 2013. In 2004, leadership passed to Claudia and her husband Torsten, who now lead with warmth, innovation, and a passion for modernizing driver education—ensuring the Baroli legacy continues to inspire future generations.
